Who Wins in a Fight? The NC Symphony or Super Mario?

“You know what this symphony could use? More Super Mario Bros”, said no one ever. Er, wait. Scratch that. It seems that the NC Symphony has actually said that.

Described by the Washington Post as “ingenious and fantastic,” and “a feast for the eyes and ears,” by the Seattle Times, Video Games Live is an award winning concert event that features beautiful symphonic arrangements of music from the most popular video games of all time, along with synchronized video footage on three giant screens, plus lighting and electronic percussion.

Music from the greatest video games of all time performed live with the North Carolina Symphony, featuring MegaMan,Silent Hill 2, Metroid, Shadow of the Colossus, Journey, God of War,Mass Effect, StarCraft II, Dota 2, Beyond Good & Evil and music from the upcoming release Destiny, plus many more, including new arrangements from Final Fantasy and Warcraft!

In addition to the concert there looks to be a variety of activities and contests including:

  • Guitar Hero competition – get the top score in the pre-concert challenge and you get to play the game LIVE ON STAGE with the orchestra!
  • Costume contest
  • Prize give-a-ways
  • Interactive game demos
